The Magic Gateway

We discover a curious man who carries, with great pride, an old, tattered paintbrush. That old paintbrush magically paints a thousand colors in mid-air! Using his magic brush, the curious man has put an ordinary doorknob on his colorful gateway.

This story is a lovingly crafted tribute to my elementary school art teacher, "Mr. Giles." Every time he demonstrated something for the class, he'd don his grubby brown smock and fancy green hat. When that happened, I knew something magical was about to happen.

His inspiration and introduction to art were exactly like a magic gateway to me. We were presented with new horizons, new thinking, and most importantly, imagination. The experience shaped my life as an artist. His tutelage on the finer points of drawing opened my young brain to a broad landscape of possibilities.

I wanted to create a story that simulates the wonder I experienced, in the hopes that it does the same for your children.
