Children's Picture Book Art Portfolio

Here's a limited collection of some of my most recent, or favorite, children's picture book artwork. All are executed digitally as dry brush watercolor over ink line work.

More about my portfolio...

If you've made it this far, all the way down to the bottom of my online portfolio, you may be interested in what I can do for your children's picture book project.

All the artwork you see here has been created using digital tools: my trusty Huion Kamvas 22 Gen3 display tablet and Affinity Photo. While I have a lot of experience with pastels and pen and ink, I choose to work with digital tools when creating art for children's picture books. I've been using Photoshop almost since it first existed. As a result, I have a lot of experience, born of tears and tragedy, in creating art and design with digital tools. Primarily, I enjoy the flexibility of creating children's picture book artwork digitally; revisions are easier, composition changes are a snap, color refinements are a piece of cake, and there's no pastel dust to clean up when I'm finished.

My favorite subject is animals. I've spent considerable time as a pet portrait artist and now live on a small farm where we had ducks, geese, pigs, chickens, goats, and turkeys. I've observed how animals can express a wide range of emotions, and I enjoy showing that in my work.
